Co-videos is a video performance series born from the collective isolation of the early 2020 quarantine—capturing the zeitgeist of confinement, mediation, and self-presentation for each month in quarantine utilizing consumer webcams for motion capture; bringing together COVID anxiety, social media singing, quarantine, and animals roaming empty streets.
The work acknowledges how quarantine reshaped our relation to self and others – phenomenological artifacts of a world trapped between confinement and broadcast. We perform not just for an audience, but for memory, for presence in the absence of presence, and for meaning where structure has been stripped away.
This work intentionally re-frames mundane domestic gestures as artistic expression: a neighbor’s song becomes elegy, a roaming pet becomes companion and witness, and the static webcam becomes both mirror and mediator of the self. Co-videos explores how isolation—detached from shared physical space but hyper-connected to screens—shifts the way we see, perform, and narrate our own experience.
